A Message from
Crystal Springs Camp Director

Reflecting on the 2002 camp season I know that the continuing benefits of a camp experience is realized throughout the lives of our camper and staff.  Every summer, our campers take with them the dreams and memories that comprise an "invincible summer".  Those dreams and memories serve as a reservoir of strength for the soul, which can be drawn upon in ties of joy or trouble.  A camp experience will expand not just skills and independence, but most importantly the spiritual foundation by having been introduced to Jesus Christ.  This will always be our main focus as we plan for the future of Crystal Springs Camp.

As we look beyond the year 2002 we should remember the many changes that have taken place in our world, it is most likely that our campers will find this world a more complex society.  Without the benefit of real experiences, young people cannot be expected to make good decisions.  The camp experience can serve as a bridge from a place that is difficult to understand to a community that is designed to make sense.

The physical setting of any camp operations an integral part of the total camp experience.  While the programs and staff are key to the campers development in a safe and healthy environment, the facility is important to the over camp experience.  This past year after experiencing several rainy seasons we began to assess our facility and how we could utilize space within our grounds while creating benefits for the existing summer programs.  It was apparent to reach our goals we would need a building that would provide a place for indoor activities, as well as have the potential to provide a meeting location for groups throughout the year.  I am happy to report that this vision has become a reality thanks to so many individuals and churches who have made contributions to the capital campaign.  Because of your faithfulness and dedication we will have all the structural aspects of the building completed before the 2003 camp season.

I look forward to the new camp season and seeing once again so many familiar face.  God continues to bless our efforts and we give Him all the glory and praise for all that has been accomplished.

In the camping spirit,

Carol Medley

2003 Camp Information

The packets for the 2003 camp season will be distributed the month of February.  If you are currently scheduled for this upcoming season, or if you have requested information this year, complete the registration and all relative forms and mail as soon as possible.  There are several changes this year so please make sure you read the literature thoroughly.

Spring Cleaning

This spring we are planning a workday and an opportunity for all to come and help us in cleaning out the springhouse and surrounding area.  Date to be announced later.

Capital Campaign is still underway!

Plans are complete and construction has begun on the new Multi-purpose Activities Building.  There has been a great need for this type structure for sometime and now it is becoming a reality.  We ask that you prayerfully consider financially supporting the progress that continues to be made at our camp facility.  In addition we are providing a way for you to remember your days at camp by allowing our churches or individuals to contribute toward the purchase of items in honor or memory of someone.

Adopt a Cabin

We are so thrilled to report that all cabins have been adopted and many groups worked on their cabins this past spring.  A special "thank you" for going that extra mile to benefit our camp.
